Is it Time to Re-Brand My Firm?

7 Key Questions to ask yourself...

A couple months ago, I was thinking about our marketing plan and our website.  It had been quite some time since I’d visited it, and if we’d gotten a handful of leads from it I’d be surprised.  I took one look and almost had a heart attack.  The content was stale, the pictures were old, and the only thing being updated was the calendar of events. Feeling mortified and embarrassed (an understatement) and I really ought to know better, a 911 call was made to a marketing firm “Help! My website sucks.”

I suspect that I’m not the only one who got a website and marketing collateral when we started out and then abdicated it (as opposed to delegating it) to someone else. I then went on about the day to day activities of running my business and marketing functions I’m more familiar and at ease with like networking and speaking.

Branding is the true essence of what your clients and potential clients think about your product and services.  The strength of your brand is a function of your reputation x your visibility in the market place.  The question “is it time to re-brand” becomes relevant when you as an owner  sense something is amiss.

Here are 7 Key Questions to ask yourself as you consider whether or not it’s time to rebrand:

  1. Are you ashamed to send people to your website and social media pages?
  2. Has your industry become much more competitive in the last few years?
  3. Are you getting leads from your website?
  4. Are you competing on price?
  5. Are you considered an expert in your industry?
  6. Can everyone on your team articulate what you do and how you’re different?
  7. Does your visual brand look tired or outdated?

As small business owners we know how to do our business, engaging a marketing expert actually saves time and money, get someone who can help you evaluate, plan and execute an effective rebrand, your business deserves every chance of winning.
