Coaching for a Cause
ActionCOACH Team Sage has made giving back to the community a part of its corporate culture. The leadership of the firm is involved with various organizations and programs that are far-reaching throughout South Florida. Jody Johnson, Owner and Master Coach, has been a regional board member of ActionCOACH’s Coaching for a Cause, a pro bono coaching program that works with non profits to enhance their business skills and results. ActionCOACH Team Sage has donated its services to the following non-profit organizations.
Shake-A-Leg Foundation
Shake-A-Leg Foundation is a non-profit organization striving to help disabled people to engage in their mental and physical recovery especially in water sports. With the help of its many partnerships, the foundation serves people with disabilities, disadvantaged children and their families and the entire community to overcome the physical, developmental and economic challenges. It offers remarkable outdoor activities and an immense water sports facility, which offers sailing and windsurfing classes, boating courses, art projects, science, island eco-adventures and homework help.
Women’s Fund
Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade has a grant-making program focusing on developing women and girl leaders, ending violence against women, and increasing economic security for families. They believe in creating an environment in which all women and girls can prosper and thus have awarded over $2 million to gender specific programs serving thousands of women and girls. The Women’s Fund has played an important role in encouraging the development of programs designed to meet the needs of women and girls and strengthening existing gender-specific problems. They empower women and girls through advocacy and funding for innovative initiatives that build equality, foster social change, and create community partnerships. Their vision is a community where all women and girls have equal access, opportunity and influence.
Results Organization
RESULTS is a non-profit grassroots advocacy organization committed to creating the political will to end hunger and the worst aspects of poverty. Their effective solutions to poverty include but are not limited to performing cutting-edge research on poverty issues and programs, building support for proven poverty-fighting strategies by engaging and educating the public and political and opinion leaders.
Educate Tomorrow
Educate Tomorrow is an international, non-profit organization who believes that the best way to end the cycle of poverty is through education. Thus their goal is to make education an attainable goal by reaching out to individuals and providing them guidance, inspiration, and support on their new life’s path. Based in Miami, the company supports teens and young adults by matching them with mentors who guide them to aspire a college education, to find housing and jobs, and to help them apply to social assistance, as it is available to them.Educate Tomorrow is an international, non-profit organization who believes that the best way to end the cycle of poverty is through education. A Safe Haven for Newborns
A Safe Haven for Newborn’s vision is dedicated to saving the precious lives of newborns from the dangers of abandonment and assisting pregnant girls/women in crisis. Their safety net allows mothers, fathers or whoever is in possession of an unharmed newborn under seven days old to leave with someone at Safe Haven with no questions asked. Thereafter, the hospital takes care of the unborn and contacts adoption agencies, which will then arrange placement of the newborn with a waiting family. Their main goal is to educate the public before it even reaches this crisis stage through various, statewide public awareness campaigns.
Zen Village
Zen Village is a multi-cultural, united-faith organization and Buddhist temple that promotes spiritual well-being, diversity, and holistic wellness. It promotes Eastern Philosophy of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism and provides self-development, healing, healthy life-style education and wellness techniques, and family massage techniques. Zen Village’s focus is to train instructors and healers to become community leaders in the holistic, wellness profession, with the hope of bringing a healthier and better community.
Heart for Humanity
Through Heart for Humanity, Master Chufei Tsai teaches the knowledge and skills necessary for her students to develop inner strength, mindfulness, emotional balance, self-healing techniques as well as a deep appreciation of life. Her approach is to address the causes and not the symptoms of mental instability or physical illnesses and she provides techniques that will help an individual throughout his or her life. By developing and providing various education programs, individuals - especially underprivileged children - learn and apply the skills necessary to achieve positive physical, psychological and emotional health. The programs focus on preventing disease as well as healing current conditions naturally and sometimes involve working together with other organizations to succeed.
The Commonwealth Institute
The Commonwealth Institute is a dynamic, non-profit organization that focuses on supporting women CEO’s, entrepreneurs, and senior corporate executives by helping them grow their businesses and careers. The company provides a full range of corporate communication and training programs as well as workshops and courses dedicated to the professional development of today’s business and community leaders. Providing tools and resources to women leaders enables them to master critical stages of their business and grow beyond their expectations.
Chamber South
Chamber South strives to enhance its citizens’ economic welfare by providing local businesses with benefits to help them grow and flourish and by building relationships with environmental groups to ensure a healthy environment and healthy economy. The Doral Business Council is a non-profit organization whose vision is the leading force for business development in Doral.
